Receptionist

A local optometry office is seeking a friendly and organized receptionist to provide exceptional customer service to our patients. The receptionist will be responsible for answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, checking patients in and out, and managing patient records. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This is a full time, long term opportunity located in Redding, CA.
 
Requirements of the Receptionist:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience working in a medical or optometry office is preferred
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic health records (EHR) systems
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
 
Benefits of the Receptionist:
$16.00-$19.00 an hour, depending on experience
Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

Responsibilities of the Receptionist:
  • Greet patients and visitors, and direct them to the appropriate areas
  • Answer and manage phone calls, schedule appointments and answer inquiries
  • Verify patient insurance information and update patient records
  • Check patients in and out, collect payments and handle billing inquiries
  • Prepare patient charts, maintain accurate records and files
  • Assist optometrist with administrative tasks as needed
  • Maintain a clean and organized reception area
  • Handle all patient information with confidentiality and in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, visitors and colleagues
