A local funeral home is looking for a Funeral Arranger/Crematory Operator. The goal is to provide excellent service and hospitality to their clients. This position is responsible for the administrative and financial function of the funeral home with a focus on efficiency and customer service. This position may require crematory and removal duties where applicable. The ability to interact in a positive timely manner with all parts of the team is essential. This is a full time, long term opportunity located in Palo Cedro, CA.
Requirements of the Funeral Arranger/Crematory Operator:
- Must have great attention to detail
- High school or equivalent (Required)
- Driver's License with insurability though company policy (Required)
- Maintain a positive, productive and cooperative atmosphere within the office
- Demonstrate excellent telephone skills
- Excellent customer service
- Great organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively verbally and in writing
- Willingness and ability to learn new tasks
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and assist with push/pull 100+ pounds
Benefits of the Funeral Arranger/Crematory Operator:
$18.00-$22.00 an hour, depending on experience
Monday-Friday work week, with occasional weekend/nights/on-call as needed in the greater Shasta county area

Responsibilities of the Funeral Arranger/Crematory Operator:
- Demonstrate excellent telephone skills. Adhere to principles taught in their telephone training program.
- Email weekly Monday morning meeting notes to administrative offices in Chico and to the General Manager.
- Interact with client families, management and coworkers in person and by telephone, email or text in a time sensitive manner.
- Demonstrate ability to function efficiently in Osiris case management software.
- This position requires mastery in Osiris entry, management and reporting.
- Office Manager must master the Osiris software such that they can effectively train others in its use.
- Demonstrate proficiency in use of Microsoft Office, EDRS and other computer software in use by the funeral home.
- Completion of California Law Review and California Electronic Death Registration System (EDRS) training.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications when requested.
- Conduct file review with arrangers and manager.
- Conduct arrangements for burials, cremations and all types of funeral services when properly certified and trained. This will require certification as a Funeral Arranger (CFDA Law Review).
- Receive payments and maintain deposit detail. Manage accurate Petty Cash account and manage updated check register.
- Keep accurate and updated records of office inventory.
- Other duties as assigned.
