Mains’l College Essential Plus programs offers supports to adults who have mental health concerns the ability to reach their educational hopes and dreams!
The idea candidate will provide one on one supports for collegiate, social, vocational, and independent living skills to the adults enrolled in our college and Independent Living Skills (ILS) programs. Some preferred common interests the idea candidate would have are in arts, writing, Dungeons & Dragons, video games, anime, memes and outdoor activities for our Fun Friday activities and workshops.
We are currently looking for someone who is looking for Full-time (35-40 a week). The schedule is Monday- Friday between the hours of 8am-6pm.
Salary: $16.00 /hour
$16.25 upon completion of training and 90 days of employment!
Located in Redding, CA
The primary duties of the job would be to:
Support for helping students navigate the Shasta College campus and becoming familiar with different departments and services
Support for breaking down homework assignments into clear steps and helping students stay organized
Assist students in finding appropriate tutors
Help students learn how to live independently
Support the students with utilizing community resources
Collaborate with other staff for Friday socials to deliver engaging and educational activities/ workshops
One on One supports: college applicants, learning social skills, vocational skills and independent living skills
The perfect person for this amazing opportunity would have:
Ability to work with limited to no supervision
Ability to navigate college campus and utilize student resources like financial aid, tutoring, academic counseling, etc.
Experience working with college students and/or people who have disabilities
Ability to communicate clearly and be professional in a variety of settings
Ability to help plan program events and activities
Ability to plan and present a workshop or activity
Ability to make decisions for the good of the students, program, and fellow team members.

The average schedule is Monday through Friday with hours depending on the College Plus students’ class schedules. Times vary from 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM. There are monthly evening and potential weekend social activities that will adjust the normal weekly schedule.

Pay: $16.00 per hour
$16.25 after completion of trainings and 90 days of employment
Pay Scale:
Minimum Pay Rate: $16.00 (Starting Pay Rate)
Training + 90 days: $16.25 (Following completion of 90 days and new hire trainings)
1 Year: $16.75 (Following completion of 1 year of experience in role at Mains’l)
3 Year: $17.25 (Following completion of 3 years of experience in role at Mains’l)
5 Year: $17.75 (Following completion of 5 years of experience in role at Mains’l)
Maximum Pay Rate: $17.75
