Mains’l College Essential Plus programs offers supports to adults who have developmental disabilities the ability to reach their educational hopes and dreams! The idea candidate will provide collegiate, social, vocational, and independent living skills to the adults enrolled in our college and Independent Living Skills (ILS) programs. Some preferred common interests the idea candidate would have are in arts, writing, Dungeons & Dragons, video games, anime, memes and outdoor activities.

We are currently looking for someone who is looking for part-time (20 hours a week) work with the possibility of being full-time in the future. The schedule is Monday- Friday between the hours of 8am-6pm.
Salary: $16.00 /hour
$16.25 upon completion of training and 90 days of employment!
Located in Redding, CA
The primary duties of the job would be to:
- Support for helping students navigate the Shasta College campus and becoming familiar with different departments and services
- Support for breaking down homework assignments into clear steps and helping students stay organized
- Assist students in finding appropriate tutors
- Help students learn how to live independently
- Support the students with utilizing community resources
- Collaborate with other staff for Friday socials to deliver engaging and educational activities/ workshops
- One on One supports: college applicants, learning social skills, vocational skills and independent living skills
The perfect person for this amazing opportunity would have:
- Ability to work with limited to no supervision
- Ability to navigate college campus and utilize student resources like financial aid, tutoring, academic counseling, etc.
- Experience working with college students and/or people who have disabilities
- Ability to communicate clearly and be professional in a variety of settings
- Ability to help plan program events and activities
- Ability to plan and present a workshop or activity
- Ability to make decisions for the good of the students, program, and fellow team members.
