Civil Engineer

Engineering firm is looking for a CIVIL ENGINEER who is interested in helping rural communities in northern California and southern Oregon solve their wastewater problems; this engineer would assist our Eureka, Redding and Willits, California offices. The individual filling this position is directly responsible for the design of municipal wastewater infrastructure projects, development of preliminary plans and specifications, construction documents, cost estimates, bidding support, and construction support activities.   • Designing wastewater treatment, collection and disposal system projects
  • Preparing construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates
  • Perform conceptual and detailed design calculations, analysis and reports
  • Ensure standard engineering practices and inclusion of appropriate documentation on various reports and design projects
  • Coordinate with other design disciplines, including structures, hydraulics/drainage, geotechnical, surveying, storm water, traffic, electrical, utilities, right of way
  • Preparing rate studies, water master plans, wastewater facilities plans, as well as grant and loan applications for public works infrastructure projects
  • Providing guidance for less experienced staff
  • Plan, schedule, coordinate and oversee the work of staff-level engineers. Providing overall project management and quality control
  • Communicating regularly with clients and staff about projects, scope, schedule, cost, resource allocation and prioritization
  • Assistance with business development and proposal preparation
  • Ensures that production of specifications, reports and analysis meet scope, schedule, cost and quality requirements


  • Degree in Civil Engineering or a similar field from accredited university or college. M.S. preferred
  • Post PE experience as a civil engineer in public infrastructure projects
  • California Professional Civil Engineer registration (PE)
  • Fluency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • S. citizenship or authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
  • Valid California Driver’s license within 30 days of hire date
