A local Land Management is seeking a bookkeeper. This organization primarily operates in the Forestry Services business / industry within the Forestry sector. This is a full time, long term position located in Redding, CA.

Requirements of the Bookkeeper: 
  • Self-Starter
  • Able to develop positive rapport with business partners to support business endeavors
  • Demonstrates trustworthy traits and able to represent the business with positive & transparent intensions
  • Organized and able to manage and follow up on tasks through completion
  • QuickBooks online or willing complete on-line classes offered through QuickBooks
  • Aptitude for math Word & Excel
  • Comprehension for Cost Accounting
  • Able to communicate clearly
Benefits of the Bookkeeper: 
$26.00-$30.00 an hour, depending on experience
Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

Responsibilities of the Bookkeeper: 
  • Weekly-Accounts Payable (Bills)-
    • Receive vendor invoices via email/mail
    • Code & enter invoices into QBO
    • Review Accounts Payable Aging for invoices outstanding
      • Communicate with Isiah for any invoices in dispute
    • Record all cash/debt activity from bank
  • Weekly-Accounts Receivable (Billing)
    • Check in with Isiah on current jobs to invoice
      • Verify contract billing cutoffs per job
    • Invoice Customers
    • Review Aging Report (outstanding customer invoices)
    • Make soft calls on payment status (communicate with Isiah any items in dispute)
    • Communicate with Isiah on any questions/follow-up
  • Weekly-Payroll-ADP
    • Collect Payroll hours via phone/or electronically
    • Process payroll
    • Email Isiah Weekly PR Journal
    • Print Reports and file electronically
    • Record P/R into QBO
  • Weekly-Job Cost/Contract Review
    • Review weekly job cost report detail to verify costs are posting accurately
      • Email any questions to Isiah for confirmation
    • Set up any new jobs and task codes in QBO
    • Set up new Customers in QBO with contract amount and billing information
    • Maintain Job Backlog Report
  • Weekly-Cash Management
    • Reconcile Bank Balance with Cash on Hand
    • Report out-Weekly Status (Cc to be determined)
      • Cash on hand
      • Amount owed to Vendor
      • Amount owed from Customer
      • Line of Credit Balance
      • Balance of Work to Bill (acers remaining by contract)
      • Total Weekly Payroll in dollars and hours
  • Monthly Tasks/Reporting
    • Issue Vendor Payments 10th of each month (2ndThursday of each month)
      • Send Isiah A/P Aging report with highlighted invoices to be paid
      • Schedule telephone or in person meeting with Isiah to determine what invoices are to be paid
      • Issue checks and give to Isiah or April sign/mail. (Cc to be determined)
      • Reconcile Vendor Statements with QBO Aging Report/Make Calls for any invoices missing
    • Send Customer Statements (As needed—To be determined)
    • Reconciled Bank Statement-post any fees or interest
    • Reconcile loan balances and post interest
    • Print Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Uses and Job backlog Report
    • WIP to be provided on an annual basis (subject to change)
  • Other Responsibilities-As needed basis
    • Ensure Vendor accounts are in good standing at all times
      • Work through Isiah to establish any payment arrangement that may be needed to bridge.
    • Support and communicate Cash Flow Management
    • Support Estimating efforts
    • Maintain Insurance Certificates and vendor 1099 information
    • Process contract documents for new projects
    • Order Insurance certificates and endorsements for new jobs
    • Maintain Subcontract Insurance certificates and endorsements
    • Maintain Vehicle and Equipment Files Electrically
    • Establish Library of documentations for bid submittals and referral documentation
    • Set-up/terminate paperwork for employees
    • Monthly W/C reporting
    • Collect and work with insurance broker on annual renewals
    • Research financing options
