A local business that is celebrating their 45th anniversary this year is looking for a full charge bookkeeper. The ideal candidate will be a well-organized personal that can follow procedures. This is a full time, long term position located in Redding, CA.

Requirements of the Bookkeeper: 
(In order of importance)
  • Attention to detail and aptitude for accounting
  • Highly proficient in double entry accounting system
  • Proficient in ALL facets of Maestro Reservation Program (training available)
  • Proficient in all facets of Sage Business Works (training available)
  • Proficient in Windows, Microsoft Office, and Google Suites
  • Applications, i.e. Word, Excel, Google Docs, Google Spreadsheets
  • Ability to quickly comprehend and execute detailed instructions
  • Organization skills
  • Ability to work independently – self motivated
  • Telephone and oral communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Computer document and physical filing
  • General understanding of Travel Logistics
  • Creativity in the workplace
Benefits of the Bookkeeper: 
$21.00-$25.00 an hour, depending on experience
Monday – Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

Responsibilities of the Bookkeeper:                              
  • Accurately process and record payments within the company’s current computer programs (Maestro and Business Works)
  • Process payments to vendors (lodges and outfitters) represented by the company after having correctly calculated and deducted TFS commission and/or fees due. 
  • Providing appropriate support literature to customers
  • Tracking and collecting accounts receivable from clients previously invoiced (past due accounts)
  • Balance Payables and Receivables on a weekly and monthly basis, providing completed and balanced reports to the Head Bookkeeper
  • Willing to assist others in the travel department with projects, outside the scope of accounting
  • Generate standard or customized reports for management
  • Daily filing of computer and printed documents
  • Ability to solve problems independently and in a timely manner (also not afraid to ask for help when unable to do so)
